The origins of Acupuncture in China can be traced back as far back as 2000 - 4000 years ago, making it one of the oldest and most long-standing health care systems in the world.

Today, Acupuncture is an effective, natural and increasingly popular form of health care that is being used by people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.

It takes a minimum of 4 years to study and qualify to become an Acupuncturist, and we must be registered and recognised by governing bodies - which enable you to claim a rebate on your health fund.

Acupuncture takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease processes and focuses on the causes and treatment of illness and the prevention from recurrence of the illness

Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile single use needles into specific sites (Acupuncture points) into specific acupuncture points over the body.

Acupuncture pathways follow the body's nervous system, and creates communication between the inner and outer systems of the body.

Acupuncture points may also be stimulated using other methods, including cupping, laser therapy, electro-stimulation and massage, in order to re-establish the balance of the body., creating harmony and health.

You do not need a doctors referral to have acupuncture.

An Acupuncture session generally takes from 25-60minutes.

Traditional Acupuncture has an accumulative effect, similar to antibiotics. One treatment may help reduce symptoms, but is not enough to rebalance the body.

Combining Tradition with Technology.

A non-invasive procedure that can reap amazing benefits - Tighten loose skin, remove cellulite & stimulate fat loss by increasing the blood & fluid circulation within your body to help rejuvenate the skin and underlying tissues….great for cellulite removal & lymphatic drainage removing metabolic waste and toxins from your body.

Combining cupping & Gua Sha scraping technique with magnetic wave therapy and mild heat - you get a treatment designed  to soothe & relieve muscle pains, reduce fluid & inflammation and activate acupuncture points.

This electro cupping treatment is used to treat all types of body pains, from back & neck, relieving muscle tension, anxiety, migraines, rheumatism and even cellulite.

Cellulite is often caused by genetics and creates fluid retention, inefficient lymphatic drainage, and weak veins. These factors result in ineffective circulation. Hormonal imbalances are also linked to the creation of cellulite.

These imbalances cause the body to develop more fat cells. The fat cells under the skin convert to cellulite. The cellulite pushes the cords connecting your skin to the muscle, creating a dimpled look on the skin.

The suction and negative pressure loosens muscles, stimulates blood flow and sedates the nervous system - which can assist in pain relief.

Generally, a consultation takes between 20-45 minutes.

Traditional Acupuncture has an accumulative effect, similar to antibiotics. One treatment may help reduce symptoms, but is not enough to rebalance the body.

The number of sessions required is completely individual, and depends entirely  on the reason you require treatment, how long you have had the issue, and how your body responds to it.

You many have suffered your complaint for some time, even months or years, and still expect to be ‘fixed’ in one session. Sorry - one dose is unlikely to be as effective as a course of treatments.

The longer the illness, or the more severe (or chronic) the problem, the more treatments are required.

Firstly acupuncture needs to achieve improvements in presenting symptoms, and secondly, need to have the results ‘hold’.

This is why we cannot predict start-to-finish how many sessions will be required to achieve your end result at our first meeting.

It is common to expect to have 4-6 treatments, each 1 week apart.

It is, however, in  some circumstances, quite possible to alleviate some acute issues successfully with just 1 treatment.
