Explore the science behind this innovative technology for skin tightening and rejuvenation.
1. What is HIFU treatment?
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It’s a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to lift, tone, and tighten skin by stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production.
2. What areas can be treated with HIFU?
HIFU can be used on the face, neck, jawline, cheeks, forehead, under-eye area, décolletage, and body zones such as arms, stomach, and thighs to help tighten and contour the skin.
3. How soon will I see results?
Some clients notice an immediate lift after their first session, but the full effect develops gradually over 8–12 weeks as collagen rebuilds. Skin continues to improve for up to six months.
4. Does HIFU hurt?
You may feel a mild warmth or tingling during treatment, but most clients find it quite comfortable. At Xora Clinic, we adjust the energy levels to suit your comfort and skin sensitivity.
5. Is there any downtime after HIFU?
No — there’s no downtime or recovery period. You can return to work, exercise, or social activities straight after your treatment.
6. How long do the results last?
Results typically last 12–18 months, depending on age, skin condition, and lifestyle. Maintenance sessions once a year can help keep your skin firm and lifted.
7. Is HIFU safe for all skin types?
Yes. HIFU is safe for all skin tones and types. It’s a clinically tested, FDA-approved technology used worldwide for natural skin tightening.
8. Who is not suitable for HIFU?
HIFU may not be suitable if you are pregnant, have open wounds, severe acne, metal implants in the treatment area, or certain medical conditions. A consultation at Xora Clinic will determine your suitability.
9. How many sessions do I need?
Most people achieve great results with just one session, while others may benefit from a follow-up treatment depending on their skin goals.
Results from HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) treatments can vary from person to person, depending on your skin condition, starting point, and how your body naturally responds.
HIFU delivers progressive, long-lasting improvements, with results continuing to develop for up to 6 months after treatment as your body produces new collagen and elastin.
Each session takes approximately 60 minutes, unless otherwise stated.
For the most noticeable and long-lasting results, we recommend a series of 2–3 treatments, spaced several weeks apart.
What does HIFU feel like?
You may experience slight discomfort which is very manageable during a HIFU procedure. Some people describe it as tiny electric pulses or a light prickly sensation, but it is definitely not painful. If you’re worried about pain, you are welcome to take some anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen prior to
